OK-I know it's been awhile..but here we go!
I HAVE IN FACT-FINISHED THE ULTIMATE RESET. I shall wait for your applause.
Why thank you Mr. President.
Anyway-so the week after I finished the Reset-I totally got my period. #EpicperiodtimingFail. Because I gain like a bazillion lb's during this bloody horror show, I wanted to wait until after that freakweek before I showed you my official after pic. And get this, I didn't even cheat during my period. I usually eat salty/sweet combo's until I pass out in my own sweat and oil with crumbs on the bed. But now-I DON'T EVEN WANT "BAD" FOOD. I know. Who am I? I haven't cheated once (Well, on Cinco De Mayo-a tad bit-but that was a while ago). I'm still eating the Reset meals, because I love them so much. I'm now adding in more protein via vegan protein shakes (LOVE the Vega Sports line!). So, here it goes. My starting weight was 125. I ended up back at my highschool weight of 110 lbs. 15 lbs gone, and 10 inches lost overall. IN 21 DAYS.
The best part is how I feel. I feel like I am 10 years old again; full of energy, and I sleep like a baby every night. I'm always alert, I feel focused, and the CLARITY of MIND is out of this world. That is by far, my favorite part of this whole experience. I now know how to really taste my food, and to eat with purpose. To know if it's really "hunger" or boredom-that was a big thing for me. I was a big snacker..not anymore! No snacking at all anymore, no before bedtime snacks, and I don't even want it! I don't feel deprived of a thing..just because I feel THAT good.
Now you know what to do. Click on that banner above and get your Reset. I will coach you day in and day out throughout your whole journey. It's worth the investment, if you are going to invest in anything-invest in YOU first. You will be SO THANKFUL that you did.
I FEEL ALIVE!!!!

Day 3 of Ultimate Reset has commenced
So. people have been telling me rumors that days 3-5 are where you feel like piss-ass. Awesome. Thanks for that heads up. I actually slept GREAT last night, but I did wake up with a little bit of a headache. Hopefully that will go away after my first meal today. Breakfast will be simple: just a certain selection of fruit-but alot of it! I just had my oxygenated/mineralized water with some supplements and ALOT of water. Wierd how I actually look forward to that water in the morning! So do you want to hear something extremely FUNNY? So, blogger has this thing where you can see how people found your blog, what phrases they used to find your blog, etc. Usually it's the normal, "demi bean, demi bean fitness model, demi bean working out, demi bean muscles, demi bean magazine, steroids <--I had to laugh at that one!, etc." You get the point. BUT! A new one popped up yesterday which I think is HYSTERICAL. "The official hate site of Demi Bean." !!! BAHAAHAHAA! I can't tell you how happy that made me. Because anyone that knows me knows I am one of the nicest people out there, but if you're going to hate on me for whatever reason-than ok-have fun with that. I'm moving on because my life just doesn't stop. I have a world to change. But I will say, it just adds alot of publicity for me-so "Thank you" to whoever wasted all that energy into that website-my name will just get more popular. :)
Moving on...
I am starting to miss working out. I KNOW that all of my energy needs to focus on detox and digestion. I get it. But I am missing me some Tony Horton and Shaun T. I know soon-I shall return with gusto to these workouts, I just need to be patient and trust the system. Weightloss is still at a solid -4 lbs, and my skin looks fab. Rock on Detox, rock on.
BEACHBODY ULTIMATE RESET <---Click on above banner or on this link and get you some! I will coach you through it every step of the way. :)

DAY 20 OF ASYLUM ***DONE*** and mash potatoes
I can see the light. 10 more days. 10 MORE DAYS. And I can send off my before/after pics and get my dang tshirt. BECAUSE THAT IS ALL I WANT-MY TSHIRT. Anyone that completes this should get a medal really-this is just mayham. I had Game Day and Overtime yesterday (see previous post), and today-Verticle Plyo. What a fabulous follow up. I was soooo looking forward to this. (can you just HEAR my sarcasm). Whatever. I do what's on the schedule, no matter how painful. Well, not really painful-just EXHAUSTING. And that's one thing I wanna say-with Insanity-I know alot of peeps were getting knee injuries, back tweaks and all that (engage your core people!). With Asylum-I DON'T HAVE ANY PAIN, except plain EXHAUSTION, and the expected wretched soreness. Soreness does not equel pain, IMO. Pain is a pulled muscle, tendons breaking, bone breaking, that kind of thing. That's the only time I think anyone should take a rest day. If you are sore-suck it up-and do your scheduled workout. This is my accurate description of my soreness today, and I still did the workout, so you can too:
I don't even know what this means. But my body does feel "mashy." Hence mash potatoes.
I need to shower or lie in the tub for 2 hours. So, that's all I have for now. Bye.

I don't even know what day it is anymore. All I know is that this workout was HARD.
Ok I lied. I just finished lucky number Day 13 in Insanity: The Asylum. The only reason I know that is because I have this dang huge wall calander staring me in the face as soon as I get up in the morning. It's like a date with the devil. Hey do you guys know what Selecttech dumbbells are? Well, we got a killer set with a stand and everything off of Craigslist for $200 bucks (love a deal) and I heart them with everything that I have. For those that do know a thing about them, you know that you can increase the weight by .5 lb's if you want. So, everytime I workout, I try to "fool" my body and increase weight by a half a pound. I mean, it's (my body) not going to notice that, it's just not. WRONG. I was spewing sweat from every pore of my body times a million more than any other workout I've done to date. EVER. J got sneaky on me and took this pic ON MY VERY LAST SET. And then told me to hold that pose. I was like, "ARE YOU KIDDING?!" I can barely hold these things in my hand, let alone have an impromptu photoshoot when I'm this spent. But, he did get a good pic. I think. I look like I may kill someone, but, that's just me in general. This program is no joke. I say that alot-but it's the friggin' truth.
That's all I got-Demi

I'm getting all bible-y on you today
Someone piss you off today? Someone pissed me off, and this cat.
Angry people usually justify their anger, saying it's someone else's fault they are angry. Yet the Bible repeatedly warns us against giving in to anger when we are upset by other people's words or actions.
There is such a thing as righteous anger. And sometimes we need to talk about problems or deal with dangerous situations. (Even at these times, we must exercise self-control.) Yet most of the time, our anger is not righteous. As James wrote, "Man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires" (James 1:20).
When we give in to anger, we often focus on our own welfare, comfort or happiness. Instead, we should be primarily concerned about other people’s welfare and being a good witness for God.
God does not want us to simply react emotionally to others' actions. Instead, we should respond with wisdom and a gentle spirit.
...That said-it's ok to be angry. Anger is a natural emotion. We can control how we respond to anger though..whether your are responding to the one who made you apeshit crazy, or you are talking to someone else about how that person made you apeshit crazy. You shouldn't do that. I shouldn't do that. We aren't perfect. We mess up. But it's ok. It's how we handle ourselves that really makes a difference. Are you going to hold on to that anger, or are you going to let it go? I'll tell you what, staying angry at someone, or refusing to not change your attitude-is absolutely IGNORANT!! And not to mention-completely time consuming-emotionally and physically! Get on with your day, get over it, and get back to work-whatever it is that you do. Next time you are pissed off, do this:
OH HOW IT HELPS. I'm on Day 7 of Asylum BTW. It was "Strength" again. Boy-this workout WORKS YA. I upped my weights-but I payed for it! Tons more sweating and groaning and maybe a little pee in the pants. But I made it. And I may even say I like the workouts now?? Maybe. (Like when it's over).
Aaaaaand this picture just because its' soooo something I would do to scare the crap out of my kids:

Day 3 of INSANITY: THE ASYLUM; "Back to Core"
There are no words. Buuuut this guy pretty much sums it up.
First let me start with a quote from the workout, that Shaun says. "The work doesn't start until you are in PAIN." WTH?!
OK. So this workout was REALLY DIFFERENT. I was definitely sweating in the warm up and during some parts of the workout-but it wasn't your typical Shaun T sweatfest. It was a firefest of burning in places you never knew existed in your body. There are alot of pulses (Ohhh the pulses I hate you), static holds, balance crap (which I'm aweful at), and just things that don't really feel good at all. And I may have had to go to the bathroom immediately postworkout to takecareofbusinessifyouknowwhatImean. Who knows why?? Anway-so you see the title-and it has the word "Core" in it. Cool. I'm expecting some abdominal stuff but NO CRUNCHES BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW SHAUN AIN'T DOWN WITH THAT SHIZ. NO. NO. NO. It wasn't anything that I was expecting. We pretty much worked the back of our core. Wierd, right? I didn't even know you could do that. There was alot of butt work, and hamstring moves that mademewannadie. Yeah, you had to keep your core tight to even do the moves properly, but in no way was the "superficial" layer of our abs worked in a typical way. The reverse delts got a heck of a workout as well, which I loved because I always find that hard for me to do. OH and this is where you incoporate the green band. I don't even wanna think about it. I hated that thing. In a good way. What ever that means.
So. Each time I put an "X" over a day of the Asylum calander/schedule-I feel like I just delivered a baby or something. Like I accomplished a huge hurdle. But then I look at tomorrow's agenda. VERTICLE PLYO. Like, I thought all plyo was verticle? I also heard that it makes grown men cry for their mommies. Great. I'm sure it'll be tons o' fun. Barf.
I have lived another day. -Demi

DAY 1: SPEED AND AGILITY from INSANITY: THE ASYLUM
This is probably the face I was making about 2 seconds into the warm up. *No exaggeration*
So. This workout is BANANAS. Death is probably easier. In the warm up alone, I had to stop multiple times to catch my breath, and I have multiple lashings on my ankles from the jumprope. Yes, you have to speed rope. Alot. Criss cross speed rope, high knees speed rope, speed rope while switching/crossing your feet back and forth. OMG. Then comes the ladder. Or as I like to call it-THE DEVIL. I can't even explain how I felt VERY uncoordinated throughout the whole thing. Some things I was *ok* at-but mostly-I sucked at everything. OH but I did burn 914 calories in 46 minutes. Which is great-but the whole time I was like, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?! WE'RE DOING WHAAAT? OMG THIS IS SOOOO HARD! YOU ARE CRAAAAZY!" (This is exactly what I was yelling throughout the entire thing and J can attest to this).
So besides all that-I loved it. I love a new challenge-AND THIS IS DEFINITELY A FRIGGIN' CHALLENGE. Lord Almighty-I just hope I get better at it. I give it 5 stars of crazy. (A good crazy). Now go get yours so we can complain together.
I'm not agile nor do I have speed apparently-Demi

OUCH!

Broken noses, fractured bones, smashed fingers, smooshed toes, bonked heads and banged knees — is there anything you guys haven't managed to injure while working out? In response to an msnbc.com story on bizarre gym injuries, readers sent in your own stories about falling off treadmills and dropping dumbbells on toes.
Turns out, even the pros fall prey to health club clumsiness.
"I teach classes and before each one, I tell the members about the 'Fall Out Zone,' to leave yourself room to fall without injury. One morning I did not follow my own advice. I fell, butt down on a weight," writes reader Mare, who lives in Dallas. "I finished the class smiling, walked calmly to the restroom and tossed my cookies. I have never been in such pain, nor has my rear ever been so many colors."
"Back in the '70s the gym had rollers that you would sit on or kneel next to. I was kneeling next to one and I put my head down to rest it on my arms, my hair was shoulder length....you can probably guess what happened next... my hair got wrapped around the rollers! I thought I was going to get my scalp ripped off. I was able to turn the machine off quick enough, but it took quite a while to unravel my hair from the machine!"
— Debbie, Omaha, Neb.
"I was at the gym and noticed that the White Sox game was playing on a TV above a treadmill. I walked up to the treadmill to see the score. Apparently, someone had left the treadmill on a runners pace and before I had a chance to realize this, the tip of my foot hit the running tread and I was flung forward (face-first) into the hard plastic and then was dragged back to the end of it. I ended up with a broken nose, a fat lip of Octomom proportions, several facial lacerations and two bruised knees."
— Lara T., Chicago
"Yes, many years ago I lost my footing on a treadmill and scraped my shin. I was an experienced gym-goer by that time. I had a long scab of several inches as a reminder for awhile. The most embarrassing was simply slipping on the stairs leading up to the workout floor — witnessed by many people — who always asked about me for the next several weeks — I had a large blue bruise on my entire right thigh as proof of my fall!"
— Anonymous
"I was working out one Sunday on the chest press machine. I had about 200 pounds on it and about the fifth rep the rubber hand grip slipped off the handle and the bar slammed into my biceps. Not fun at all."
— Robert Ort, Mystic, Conn.
"I have had one surgery on each knee to help secure my knee caps from dislocating. It only helped a little. During one training session I was doing BICEPS CURLS and I must have tried to re-adjust my footing and twisted awkwardly and dislocated my knee cap! Took almost 7 months to recover."
— Kyle, St. Paul, Minn.
"I didn't really have a weird injury, but MAN did it hurt! I was seated on a small bench doing dumbbell presses, with a 40 pound. dumbbell in each hand. On the last repetition of the set, I lost my balance, didn't let go of the dumbbell in time, and my right shoulder hyper-abducted as the dumbbell finally crashed to the floor. What came from my rotator cuff along the way sounded like a phone book being ripped. It still hasn't healed and that was several years ago."
— Charles Weaver, Albuquerque, N.M.
"I was stepping on the side of the treadmill and put my foot directly on the moving belt, I fell on my back and scraped my arm, thought I broke my finger. My pride was damaged more than anything."
— Elaine, Boston
"It really wasn't my fault. Someone left the treadmill running and I stepped on it and I flew off. *BAHAHA! TOTALLY YOUR FAULT GF!!*I had people ask me didn't I look to see that it was running. I told them you expect a treadmill to be turned on but not running. Whoever was last on it didn't make sure it stopped when they got off. So now I do look to see if an empty treadmill is running or not. *SMART OF YOU* That's my one and only accident ever on a piece of fitness equipment."
— Sharon, Lynnwood, Wash.
"In November of last year, I was on the stairmaster for the second time ever. I'm an experienced elliptical trainer and stationary cyclist. I was gabbing with the woman on the machine next to me and wasn't paying attention while I was trying to get off the machine. I mis-judged the steps and fell down hard. I thought it was just a sprain and sheepishly limped out of the gym. When I couldn't walk the next morning, I decided to get it x-rayed. I fractured my tibia!"
— Eileen, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
"A few weeks ago while walking into the gym I was on my phone and when I was done I walking onto an empty treadmill but I was putting my phone on silence and didn't realize the treadmill had been left on so I stepped onto a running treadmill. What made it worse was that I didn't realize what was happening, thought I just tripped, so I tried to get up making it a lot worse. I had nasty strawberries on my right shin and knee, 4 strawberries on my left knee and my entire knee turned black and blue, the bottom of my left wrist was black and blue, the top of my right pinky and the side of my hand were burned and my entire pinky was black and blue. I thought I broke it. Needless to say, I am very careful about stepping onto a treadmill now."
— Christy Jensen, Springboro, Ohio
"I broke a toe falling off a treadmill. I've fallen reaching for the cap to my bottled water — fearful of causing the cap to trip someone else. I've hit myself with the Bowflex resistance bars. And today I slapped myself upside the head while putting on my Bose earphones and climbing a hill at the same time on my treadmill."
— Anonymous, Auburn, Calif.
"In 2006, returning to the gym after a spinal fusion, I broke my wrist on the elliptical machine! Bear in mind, I have been a 5 day a week gym goer for more than ten years, and before surgery the elliptical was my choice of cardio machine everyday! This time I obviously was not focused on what I was doing; I had a grip on the stationary handles and looked behind me at some distraction at which time my fingers sort of flared up and the handle caught them bending them backwards and in a sort of twisting motion, I instantly felt a crack and pretty intense pain and knew immediately that I had broken my wrist! I was gripping tightly with my thumb apparently and if I had released my grip I don't think the damage would have been so bad! I didn't even tell anyone till the next day and the manager was incredulous that it could happen; in fact, he got in touch with the manufacturer and they hadn't heard of it before! Or maybe they didn't want to admit it! It taught me one thing though, be aware of what you're doing and those elliptical handles are not as innocent looking as they appear — they pack some force behind them!"
— Anonymous, Sulphur, La.
"I was using resistance bands strapped to a pole in the gym. Somehow one of the bands came loose, snapped back, and twirled around my neck until it wound all the way up leaving me in disbelief and shame. There were two very attractive women standing near who tried not to laugh but eventually burst into laughter. Needles to say, now I work out at home." <--*SMART MAN*
— Jay, Auburn, Ala.

**MY OWN FITNESS OUCH CONFESSION**
I was doing weighted squats with the Smith machine back in my gym days. I didn't really know how to use it right, and I was trying to figure out how to slip the bar back on the rack. When I finally realized that I had to rotate the bar forward, and then it would latch, I was already on the floor from tweaking my back. Couldn't get up. I somehow hobbled out to my truck outside, and then I REALLY couldn't move. Managed to get my phone and call my husband to get me, and he layed me out in the back seat. I had to pee really bad throughout all of this. I did pee. In the car. Poor husband.

Tony Horton's One on One-Core Ball Sandwich, Volume 2

I just got it in yesterday-and it was SO MUCH FUN! It's a monster core and some upper body workout, but WOW-some of the moves are massive strength moves-and totally new-and it.was.HALARIOUS. I couldn't stop laughing!
If you like seeing Tony in his normal state of mind during a workout, along with Mason-you have to sign up for Volume 2 of TH's OOO's...it's always fresh, always funny, and really feels like you are training right along side of him, and who wouldn't like to do that? :) I got a great sweat on, and my muscles are definitely "pumped" and I feel great after my recovery drink! GO GET IT!

I GAVE IN....TO INSANITY...The Beachbody program :)
Yeah, so I ordered it today. I have too many people asking me about it, and I need to know first hand as a coach so I can pass my true experience of the matter, not only to others, but to the coaches in my downline who haven't done it..yet (LOL).
While I will review every workout here and on my blog-I want you guys to know that I won't be doing just Insanity, I will still be doing P90X and P90X+ workouts so I don't lose my muscle mass....call me crazy but I am a chick that likes my biceps, triceps, forearms, calves and everything I've been working to show. I don't want to be stick thin--which is what's going to happen with my body (just from personal experience) if I just do cardio for 2 months. I like veins, I like pumps, and I like to flex. :P So I will come up with a hybrid including at least 2 Insanity workouts a week. I'll consider them my main cardio sessions. But as good ol' Chalene says: "MUSCLE BURNS FAT" --but Tony also says: "Variety is the spice of Life." I believe them both and will be doing a monstrosity of a mix. :)
All I can say is I LOVE BEACHBODY PROGRAMS and the mix that is available to the public and fighting the trend of obesity. THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!
LOVE love you guys/gals--Demi Bean

I LOVE Mondays!
Yes, call me crazy, but I do! I love the feeling of a fresh, new week filled with opportunity. Have you thought about what you are going to do this week for your fitness? TODAY is a NEW day and no matter what you ate or drank this weekend-you can start over fresh, TODAY! Isn't that amazing? Your body will thank you for it. So I encourage you, whatever you decide to do, give it your all-press play-and get that sweat flowing. Set a goal this week. Maybe a good one for you would be to "break a sweat every day this week." Or "I will workout for at least 30 minutes, 4 days a week." Or "I will eat clean and drink no alcohol." Give it a try, and see how you feel, then maybe try it again with a different goal the next week. Feel free to share your goals here, I would love to hear them!! My personal goal this week is to eat absolutely NO processed foods, and drink nothing but water. What's yours..?

Insanity Update
The scheduled early-June launch of INSANITY has been delayed just a bit, but Team Beachbody is working diligently to premiere it as early as possible in July! Stay tuned for further updates.
Reminder: This is not for beginners. Be prepared to dig deeper and push harder than you've ever done before and achieve results you never thought possible. Watch this video to see the wild ride you're in for if you choose to give it a shot! Of course-you get it through your Beachbody coach when it's available.

P90X+ finishing pic...

I just finished my 3 months of P90X+, the follow up to P90X (alot harder!). It has definitely leaned me out, and I am currently in my recovery week, so I expect some muscle growth to occur while at "rest." :)
What will I do next, you ask? Well, I am going to do Tony Horton's One on One series mixed in with the ol' P90X and P90X+, so I'm just going to mix it all up once this recovery week is over..(which is starting tomorrow btw). Hey, variety is the spice of life!

Crazy day! But a GREAT one at that..
So I will not go into specifics, but today has been nuts for me, but has finally settled down once my hubby comes home. He is my rock and helps me put things into perspective. When negativity enters your life-sometimes you just have to "surgically" remove those things or people. Yes, it can be hard and harsh. But if it serves your family and yourself better-than THAT is what matters most in life. It's better to have 1 or 2 people close to you that have depth and make you a better person and make you feel better about yourself, than to have a bunch of random, high maintenance friends who leave you feeling empty inside. I talked to "my person" and she reminded me of God's love for us, and how we need to live at "peace with everyone" but not be best friends with every single person that is in our life. She also reminded me it's ok to "cut out" the crazies if it's for the better. I love my "inner circle" because they accept me as who I am, don't judge me, and truly love me and care. I thank God for them dearly.
I ended my early evening with KenpoCardioX-and let's just say that is a GREAT stress buster! Who doesn't like to kick and punch the frustrations away?! Let's just say at the end, I felt like a new woman. My sights are set on the prize..the right prize this time.

Post workout thoughts...
I always have things buzzing around in my head after a workout, and I thought I'd better right down some before I forget:
1) Workouts should NEVER get "easy." I just got done with Total Body +, and still, that workout makes me question my athleticism, which is good!
2) I remember saying one time when I was doing the regular P90X-and I was done with KenPoX, and I was thinking, "that was way too easy, I didn't even break a sweat!" I got some advice to start punching with light weights in my hand or wear ankle weights. That ended my "easiness" right away, and I broke through that plateau!
3) So ending thought-UP your intensity if something feels too comfortable for you. UP your weight. Being too comfortable will NOT get you results. Don't be afraid to make noises or grunt. But also remember that quality over quantity is key. It's a hard balance to find, but once you find it, your fitness levels will SOAR.

What is your WHY?
"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
You will hear this alot floating around Beachbody-but seriously-What is YOUR why?
-WHY are you working out?
-WHY are you making sacrifices?
There are so many other "why's," I just can't list them all here, but for YOU, personally, you know what your WHY is. What I want to reinforce is that your "WHY" needs to be LONGTERM.
For example: If your answer to my first question, "Why are you working out?" is "So I can look good in a bikini this summer." Well, that's great and all, but are you going to stop your health and fitness goals once summer is over and you get to cover up in sweaters? All the hard work, the sweat, and the determination you may be doing now for summer needs to be continued all year long my friends-it needs to be a LIFE long commitment-so you can live a long, healthy life, God willing.
Nobody makes a long term life commitment without knowing WHY they are doing it.

Pushing through
Today is Core Synergistics-I just had my lunch-so in one hour I will be ATTACKING that workout! Monthly friend-be darned!!! And I'll be able to do it without the pressure of waking the baby up,so that's nice! I'll see my little booger right afterwards though :).
Everyone always ask from time to time-How do you do it? How do you fit it in your schedule as a mother. I'll tell them all the same thing: Expect every day to be different, and give yourself some grace. Like today-I asked my mother to take the baby so I could doctor myself this morning until I feel better. And I'm going to squeeze the workout in during this time as well. I am fortunate and thankful for her and how offering she is. Other days, it's usually during my daughter's 1st nap, since my oldest is at school. If I don't get that done either, last resort is waiting until Jason comes home, and he'll watch the kids so I can work out. He KNOWS that if I don't get my workout in, I'll eventually start cancelling more and more workouts. Therefore leading me to being an unhealthy mom. I know he doesn't want that for me, and I don't want that for him as a father. So when I'm done, I'll watch the kids while he works out. Health is a BIG factor in our family, we want to pass down the gift of how important it is to stay healthy to our children. Of course for someone else who doesn't have any of those options--call a friend, everyone has someone to call that can help them out by letting them get in better shape. It's a small investment that can reap BIG rewards-in more ways than one! In this economy-you can really help yourself financially by JUST GETTING HEALTHY and LOSING WEIGHT!
Either way my friends, it's all about getting healthy from the inside out. I hope and pray that for everyone! XOXO
