Crap in my 3 year old's purse

And when I mean crap. I mean CRAP. Specifically "princess CRAP." She wears this said purse like she's friggin Queen of England, all up on her elbow, like all fancy. She won't go ANYWHERE without it. It is always bulging at the seams and she swears everything in it is VITAL to her very existance. Like, DON'T EVEN *THINK* about trying to clean it out, because she will cut you. While you are asleep. The only reason why I got these pics are because she was busy brushing her teeth. After dipping it in the toilet. We are not normal, and apparently have passed the not normal genes to our children. I mean, we don't brush our teeth out of the toilet or anything. We are VERY trashy FANCY parents. Ahem.

Crime Scene Evidence Submission picture #1
Ahh. You're probably like, "NBD, it's just a purse for little girls." BULGING at the seams.

Crime Scene Evidence that our kids are crazy normal and girly; submission picture #2
I know it almost looks like a vaginal opening, but I promise you it is not. I had to use herculean force to get that zipper to open. Yet she opens it with ease. Wierdo.

Crime Scene Evidence Submission picture number #3
Now, this is where things get dicey. I mean, she has a SEWING KIT in there. WTF is she going to sew, she's 3. Also please note the goggles, the 2000 NASA commemoritive coin, a reading lamp for books (???), a dollar bill, a hotel key (whatthefruit), a business card (because she does biz on the daily and absolutely needs one), gummy bears, and like 103490349 pens and pencils and markers. It's like a hookers purse. After taking this pic, I saw the future hoarder of america coming up the stairs and immediately had to stuff everything back in her purse (frantically) before she gives me evil devil laser eyes that would probably have killed me on the spot. She promptly snatched that purse out of my hands. Yikes. It was A CLOSE CALL PEOPLE.

And that my friends, is my daily dose of true crazy from this house.

OK!

Ya'll have been ON MY A$$ to blog so here you go. Almost worse than Norton reminding me every 30 seconds that I need to renew my virus protection. Geez.

I don't even know.

1) I've graduated the Asylum. No it's not a nuthouse. You know, the fitness program I've been boring into your brain for the last month. I posted my stats on my FB "like" page. I'm too lazy to copy and paste here so just go to the facebook page listed on this blog, and you can see the results there in the notes. Not a picture yet though. I got my period the last day of the Asylum (thanks universe) so I'm bloaty and I REFUSE to capture that as my "after" pic. I plan to do the Asylum/P90X hybrid next. So then I will talk about that all the time. Riveting I know.

2) We had a pretty dramatic moment at the Bean household. Isabel (just turned 3) has been 99.99999% potty trained for a good while now. BUT she would wear pullups when we'd go out, or when no one felt like taking her to the potty. (parents of the year over here). Then we decided that enough was enough. We put all the pressure on Alana (our 9 year old) so Isabel wouldn't hate us (the lazy parents), and told her to throw out all the pullups VISIBLY so Isabel could "see" that they were going "bye bye" forever. Talk about a kid going crazy. She threw her flailing body on the floor screaming "NOOOOOOOOO!!! NOT MY PULLUPS!!! PLEASE NO NO NO!!!" And I had to hold that monster back while she kicked me trying to make a bee line for Alana to kill her for throwing out her precious pullups. But, guess what? IT WORKED. We ARE GOOD PARENTS. She wears her Dora panties and loves it and doesn't pee anywhere, not even at night! Whatwhat!! :)

Aaaaaaaaand I had a dream that I was flashmobbed to a Michael Jackson song for my birthday. It was ridiculously awesome. (hint hint J).

Verticle Vom

Nope it didn't happen. I didn't vomit, but I was scarily close to it. And after looking at this, I might now:
Do you think he's sexy? barf.

So, yesterday I didn't quite keep up with a "clean" eating day. Hey, it's summer practically in Charleston already. And that means boating, going to the pool and drinking alot of adult beverages. Hydration pretty much goes out the window. I'm working on that, but it's tough. I felt it today when I did Verticle Plyo. I'm getting more "used" to the workouts, and I see changes in my body only after 2 weeks. But, I know that they could be better if I cleaned things up a bit, diet wise. I work alot with the 80/20 rule-I eat clean 80% of the time, and 20%-I do whatever the heck I want. I save that 20 for things like birthday parties, pool parties, and boat days. And there's alot of that in the Summer. Hence my struggle. Well, we all have our vices-and that's mine! I find that coconut water helps a TON with hydration if I didn't do so good on a particular day, and also taking my BCAAS and L-Glutamine; pre and post workout. They are amino acids and aid in performance, repair, and recovery. I add that to my Results and Recovery drink post workout, and take more pre workout, in capsule form. It helps ALOT, and I'm not going to post why-because it's really science-y and I barely understand it myself-let alone try to explain it to the 2 people that read this blog. Also, a high fiber diet helps with just-everything...and not just pooping on the daily. I can give you good websites though to learn, and to purchase to improve your quality of life.

www.bodybuilding.com <--great articles to learn about EVERYTHING fitness related, and a store to buy supplements-such as L-Glutamine and BCAAS.

www.barndadnutrition.com <---FIBER. It's a different kind of fiber that's just better than the rest. Helps with weight management, controls hunger, and helps with keeping your cholesterol in check. They also have these KILLER biscotti fiber cookies-OH SO GOOD!

www.beachbodycoach.com/demibean <--Results and Recovery Drink. Great for hydration and awesome for post workout feel good vibes.

www.anglefoods.com <--Kurt Angle developed a food line that includes DELICIOUS healthy frozen pizzas that are high in fiber and protein. They make me smile times a million.

So you see there is a balance you need to find. I *think* I found mine. But it's ALWAYS a daily decision, and NOT always easy. Do you want to get fitter? Or Fatter? Or shorten your lifespan? Pass good lifestyle choices to your kids, family, and friends? Does that sound good to you? I hope so.

HAPPY BIRFDAY ISABEL GRACE. SHE'S 3!!!

TIRED/sore/PAIN and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISABEL!

I woke up at 4 AM PEOPLE. Why? Because I am in pain. Oh the brutality. Sore as hell from *Idontevenwannasaythenameanymore* you know what. I had the computer close by (btw that is not me pictured above, but a close comparison) so I decided to complain about it-to you. You're welcome. I have the jumpy workout today. WTH. This week is going to be wrong on so many levels so expect aLOT of craptastic whiney blogposts. I want my Shakeology soooooo bad but I cant even fathom walking downstairs for it. Maybe I'll do this instead:
Again-this is NOT me. But I'm totes jealous and wish I had it. Within arms reach.

In other news: MY BABY IS THREE YEARS OLD TODAY! Time REALLY does fly-and you know I used to HATE when people said that-because time doesn't really "fly" around. It just happens when your not doing anything. Or doing too much you forget that amazing crap is happening all around you. I prefer to be in the middle. Anyway-I went through 6 hours of natural birth with that little bugger-and I still remember the feeling of the bowling ballprecious baby ripping through my vag. Someone once told me that pushing a baby out actually "feels good." WTH. It does not feel good, and you poop on the table. Not fun. Especially for those in the room. But it was all worth it for my Isabel. Happy Birfday sweet thing. I will post updated pics of this angel for you later. When I'm more awake and able to move.

Week 6 of the +

Well today was the awesome Upper + and abs/core workout-which I absolutely love! Today was different though...I was able to UP the weight almost on every move, it totally shocked me, I was using my 20 lb dumbbells for almost everything, and barely using an assist on the bar (except for the L's and the 7 point pull-up..that thing is CRAZY!). I am definitely noticing a difference in my arms, and especially my back and legs. Pretty much everything! That's what I love about this program. It just SCREAMS results! And let's face it-if you're not getting results-you are not going to stick to a goal or program. The programs with BeachBody are DIFFERENT, so if you are looking to really make a change in yourself, in your health, and maybe financially...then let me know. I LOVE this business, and I can tell you that they really take care of their "peeps." :)

In Him and Health-Demi

P.S. Isabel is ROCKING an awesome sleep routine! She's finally really back into the groove, sleeping from 830ish until 630ish, and taking 2 naps again, finally! And sometimes the naps are 2 hours! Crazy. I gotta say-I am loving this age, she is just so darn funny and cute, and every day she surprises us with something new. She still can't say "mama", but can pretty much say every other consonant, and even says "lana" for Alana of course. All day long, I'm like, "MOMMMMMA!" HAHA.

Alana has gotten an "E" (for behaviour, stands for "excellent") every day this month at school, and we are SO proud of her. She had some bad marks in the past month for talking during class, so she got all that straightened out. She told me she wants to get an E every day until she graduates! Go ahead girl! She is just growing up so quickly, and sometimes she teaches me new things. It's amazing. She loves Jesus so much too, genuinely, which makes us even prouder as parents that we were able to bring her up that way. We went to Barnes and Noble to get a more age appropriate bible for her, and she loves it! She reads to us now, every night, instead of us reading to her. We are truly blessed with our children and our family. Jason is such a good teacher and father, and I thank God for them every day!

Pictures make me happy!

I feel like I haven't posted Isa in a long time, and Alana-but for now-here's a great pic of Isa and Daddy, right before we left to Costa Rica. It was so hard to leave the kiddos. They were so happy when we got back though! So sweet.

Monday, February 2, 2009

That's Isabel's newest word. Forever I thought she was just babbling, but she is in fact saying, "No." And it's not just one time. It's "No,NO, NO, NO, NO, NO,NO!" It usually happens when we are trying to save her from something that could hurt her; like bumping her head when she tries to get in our entertainment center to mess the with dials, or stick her finger in a socket that was somehow overlooked with our awesome babyproofing skills..NOT. Anywho, she has started to say "mama" and of course "dada" (all the time!) and lala's, nanana, baba, and fafa. She's certaintly a talker is all I gotta say.

Time to start getting ready for legs, back and abripper. YAY!

First Spaghetti dinner for Isabel!

This pic is halarious! She loved it and gobbled it all up! And none even came out of her nose!

Isabel is FINALLY crawling!

So she started crawling a couple days ago when Rob and Amanda dropped off their awesome dog, Shaq, at our house. With the dog, they also had these nice, shiny dogbowls. I guess that's the inspiration that the girl needed to move, because once she saw those things across the way, she just WENT! Like she's been doin' it her whole life! She's totally thrilled about all the "things" she can get into, so yeah, baby gates, and house protection (outlet plugs and all that) are well underway. I will try my best to get a good one on video, but lately as soon as she see's the camera, she just stops and starts smiling. Crazy girl! Love her!

Bleeeehh this morning

But waking up to this makes it all worth it!

And a short run won't hurt either in a couple minutes :)

There's a new pic of Alana and Isabel on the right side too if you wanna see.

So last night I had a horrible night of sleep. Every now and then it happens. It was just very surprising because I was so tired when I went to bed. Oh well, maybe a nap later will be in store for us..and then we can start our errands for the day :).

LOVE my job. :)

Katie and Kevin Engagement Pics...and The Gosselins

I LOVE this picture of them..it just spills JOY. I can't wait to see them get hitched in July! It's going to be a wonderful day!

So, the weird transition and totally unrelateable title of this blog..Kate, from John and Kate Plus 8, is going to be at Seacoast! I'm not sure when, but she will be a guest speaker. Looking forward to hearing how she shares her testimony with us all.

Hmmm, on another note-we are watching Isabel closely. We took her to the doc today, because she wasn't peeing much. The doc assured us that she looked good, and to load her up on water and juices, no solids, and of course her formula. Hopefully we will see some good, peed on diapers, and nothing else will come of this crazy ordeal with her. Continual prayers please!

P90X-Still kicking my ass. I love it though. I'm starting to throw in alot of doubles, and ooOOOH I did my first UNassisted pullup today! wooot! I am starting to wear my jeans that I wore PRE baby, which makes me crazy happy and delirious. So kudos to Tony Horton. Pounds, lbs, inches, and sweat are lost every day, and it is SO worth it.

P.S. Pics of the beautiful Katie and her soon to be hubby were taken by the talented Whitney Buffington! (Link on right side). :)

Vesicoureteral Reflux

This is what Isabel has been diagnosed with this past week. I'm not sure I told a bunch of people, it's not something I would just bring up casually anyway.

Alot of you did know that Isabel had a Urinary Tract Infection not too long ago. Or as her Dr. put it, "a raging infection." The good doc put her on antibiotics and they seemed to have worked--fever has went away, and her good spirits are back. Though, as standard procedure, a couple tests were ordered. One being a kidney ultrasound, and the other a little nasty test called the VCUG test-not sure what it stands for.

Well, on the VCUG, they insert a catheter into her (horrible, horrible to watch her go through) and then they fill her bladder up with this crazy x-ray visible fluid. All the while her body was sandwiched in the x-ray machine. She, was of course, screaming her head off, and I just had to try to comfort her with soft words of mommy encouragement, and her paci was dipped in sugar water bunches of times.

They immediately noticed that the fluid (which would be her urine on a normal day) refluxed (or regurgitated) back up from her bladder into her kidney. And, they also noticed the reflux was going as far as into her other kidney, which isn't good.

So what happens next? I'm not exactly sure. They did say some children grow out of this. She, on the other hand, has "stage III" reflux, which might not fall into that category. The worst (with kidney's anyways) is renal failure, but really never happens, especially when it's caught early. The worst for us, I think, would be surgery to correct the valve so that her urine does not reflux. The docs prescribed prophylactic antibiotics until tomorrow, when our Primary Care doc will talk to us more. If you want to read more about it-go here.

Prayers needed for her little valve to heal and keep that pee where it's supposed to be! Prayers for no more UTI's, no infections, and that she would absolutely grow out of it. Love to all!

I did it

I did my workout today (Core Synergistics), despite my lingering cold. I think it actually made me feel better, so I'm glad I sucked it up and just did it. I did the bonus round, and alot of the moves I actually did better than the first time I did this workout. Crazy. One thing that I am noticing is a slight lingering pain in my right knee (I noticed it doing towel jumps-and yes, I was landing on my toes.) Not anything to stop working out or anything, but anyone got any tips to make that go away??? I would be so upset if I got a serious injury that required me to stop this program when I'm getting so far into it.

On another note, in about 2 hours I have to take Isa to the Dr. for a nasty test that I'm sure will make her scream her bloody brains out. They have to insert a catheter, then inject some sort of dye to see how it flows in her system-then above all that, put her under an x-ray to see it all. How they are going to make her stay still for all that is a mystery to me-so please pray for things to go smoothly right around 230-4pm today!

Hey Jess-what's the deal with our workouts?? I want to kick your ass in Chest and Back at some point..he he.

Last Blog for at least 3 days or so...

Because we will be moving!! Closer to all our friends, so THAT is what I'm so excited about. Expect to see alot more of us, woot woot! LOL.

Here are some pics to tide you over until I'm back online..from Christmas morning. Isabel and Alana were happy as clams. Isabel loved all the gifts from her Nana and Aunt Tanya (thank you! :)) and of course mommy and daddy, gramma and poopa, and her Great Pappy (He got them 2008 MATCHING Christmas Barbies!-I don't know who loved them more, me or the kiddos-haha). Isabel had an especially joyful time ripping off paper than trying to chew on it. I didn't let her do this longer than 2 seconds, for which she got VERY mad at me. The toys were a nice distraction.

Till I write again...Happy New Year! And here is to a great 2009!

Updates

Isabel went back to the doctor today, and she still had a bit of a fever, and it was going up, slowly once again. They gave her another Rocefin shot, and she just passed out and she is sleeping. I'll take her temp when she wakes and see what's going on with that so I can help her feel better with some prayer and motrin :).

P90X news-Today was day 1 of week 3 (woohoo!), and of course it was chest and back, with ab ripper. I totally SUCKED today at abs. I feel like I actually got weaker in the abdominal region. Maybe it's because I have my period. (I can hear your EEEeews, all the way from here, lol.) Who knows. I'm hoping to go to our small group Christmas party tonight so 2 things need to happen: a) Isabel needs to feel better so I can leave her (she's momma's girl, and wants just me when she's sick, and I just can't leave her if she's crying for me!) and b) I need to do CardioX so I can have a good calorie deficit for this party tonight. (AKA-I can have a glass of wine (or 2!) and maybe a cookie or something.) So yes, today is another double day. Have I lost my mind?? Probably! :)

Not a happy blog

I took Isabel to the doctor today because her fever just wasn't going away. It was going up and down between 99.4 and 102.9 for 3 days. Well, after 3 days with a fever, the doctor is the next go to on my list. They didn't see anything on her throat, and her ears were fine. The one thing he wanted to check was to see if she had a UTI (Uterine tract infection) just so he could rule it out. They had to do a catheter (poor baby! she did NOT enjoy that) to get a sterile urine sample.

When the doc came back in she said she definately had a UTI. But, the thing with babies is that they can't really tell you "that it burns when I pee" so it can go undetected for a while.

They had to give her a Rocefin shot in the leg (antibiotic booster shot), to kickstart the healing, and I have to go back in tomorrow. If she doesn't get noticabely and considerabely better by tomorrow afternoon, then they have to probably admit her for a kidney infection (because that's apparantly where the infection spreads after it screws up your urethra).

So needless to say, I need many prayers for healing by tomorrow. We do not want another hospital stay and most importantly I don't want to see my little baby in pain at all. I will let ya'll know how things go as I figure them out.

Week 2-DONE!

Thank Goodness. I peeked over at the next phase nutrition meals..bagels, waffles, muffins, YAAY!! I am jumping for joy at that. This phase has been...hard to say the least, and I still have 2 more weeks of it left! Halfway is good though. If you can get half way through something, there's no reason you can't complete it, right? And if I can complete 1 phase, why not 2 more phases? They always say the first one's the hardest in anything, so I'm feeling good about it. Some soreness came back today which was weird because I though that whole "thing" was done with. Gotta love muscle confusion.

On a different note-I sold my first 2 items in my Ebay store! Woohoo. Maybe I can turn this into a business or something-we shall see.

On a sadder note-Isabel has a fever of 102.2..last night was rough, and today she doesn't want to eat. So Jason is getting her some pedialite and some infant motrin to get this under control. If we can't, then off to the doctor we go. I know some little bug is going around Charleston, so I'm guessing it's just that. She's a trooper so I know she will be fine. I noticed though when she has a fever she likes to sleep naked. If she has anything on she will literally pull at the buttons until I get the hint and take it off. I guess she is just too hot with this fever so it's just her and her birthday suite and a pamper. She's sound asleep right now, so I guess she's comfortable! Pray for speedy healing of the little booger I love so much.

Dailies

Today is a pretty "blah" day..overcast skies (though it's not cold at all), and quietness for me in this house since Isabel is taking her nap. Her nap schedule has been all over the place recently. It's gotta be a growth spurt or something. We've recently upped her formula to 7 ounces every 4 hours, with 2 "solid" meals on most days. Some days it's all milk for her, and she doesn't mind it one bit. But gosh, the napping situation, aah! For the most part she will take 2 naps. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon; ranging from 1-2 hours each. Now, it's more like 1 2 hour nap in the am'ish, and then a catnap of like, 20 minutes in the pm. I guess I will just have to adjust to her new schedule, because how are going to force a baby to sleep anyways?? If she's awake and brighteyed, it's out of the crib for her. She sleeps great at night though, which I think is more important anyways, at least for the family! She is an early riser though (5am'ish) so that's a bit exhausting. We've tried to get her to stay up a bit later, but as soon as 7pm rolls around-she's out. No matter where she's at. She can be in her bouncer, and it's like someone hit a switch and just put her to sleep. So, that's just how we roll right now with the infant.

Alana is doing wonderful btw! She is such a great reader now, and she's finally nailing down alphabetical order (that was her weakness-BIGTIME). She always gets in trouble though for talking and "socializing" (as her teacher said), and this doesn't surprise me one bit. She's a social butterfly and is chock full of street smarts. Everyone in her class LOVES her so I know she's the "cool" one in class, and at least I know she's not getting picked on. I was always getting picked on in school when I was her age, and it is not a fun thing to go through. My prayer for Alana ever since she's started school has included "Lord, Please don't let anyone pick on her, ever!" So I guess He is faithful in that promise for me. :)

So enough of the kids and back to P90X! Ha. Today was a rest day, but I did kenpo in the am. I just loooove it. So much fun, I feel like Jennifer Garner kicking someone's ass and who wouldn't like feeling like that. Anyone comes at me, better watch out, you will get a jab, hook, uppercut, and a swift kick to you! HA!
