Probably the best thing ever that made it's way in my mouth. That's what she said.
So. I made THIS as my bedtime snack-a-doo. (It's not a picture of what I actually made, obviously-but it looked just like this).
Chocolate Shakeology Pudding
*1-½ scoops Chocolate Shakeology (or Vegan Tropical Strawberry-
1 ripe avocado-
1 large banana-
1 cup almond milk-
1 tsp. lemon juice-
PREPARATION: Mix all ingredients in blender until smooth. If pudding is too thick, add a bit more almond milk. Pour into 4 small individual dishes and refrigerate for an hour.
OPTIONAL: Garnish with chopped pecans, chia seeds, or walnuts.
HOLY BALLS. This was SO good I can't even tell you. My kids were chomping at the bit to have some of this yummy HEALTHY goodness. Makes for a great dessert!
P.S. I know the Avocado sounds crazy, but you can't taste it, and it's what makes it into a great pudding texture. Plus, this recipe is chock full of healthy fats and low in calories. And did I mention it tastes AMAZING?! It does.
Until next time..

OK-I know it's been awhile..but here we go!
I HAVE IN FACT-FINISHED THE ULTIMATE RESET. I shall wait for your applause.
Why thank you Mr. President.
Anyway-so the week after I finished the Reset-I totally got my period. #EpicperiodtimingFail. Because I gain like a bazillion lb's during this bloody horror show, I wanted to wait until after that freakweek before I showed you my official after pic. And get this, I didn't even cheat during my period. I usually eat salty/sweet combo's until I pass out in my own sweat and oil with crumbs on the bed. But now-I DON'T EVEN WANT "BAD" FOOD. I know. Who am I? I haven't cheated once (Well, on Cinco De Mayo-a tad bit-but that was a while ago). I'm still eating the Reset meals, because I love them so much. I'm now adding in more protein via vegan protein shakes (LOVE the Vega Sports line!). So, here it goes. My starting weight was 125. I ended up back at my highschool weight of 110 lbs. 15 lbs gone, and 10 inches lost overall. IN 21 DAYS.
The best part is how I feel. I feel like I am 10 years old again; full of energy, and I sleep like a baby every night. I'm always alert, I feel focused, and the CLARITY of MIND is out of this world. That is by far, my favorite part of this whole experience. I now know how to really taste my food, and to eat with purpose. To know if it's really "hunger" or boredom-that was a big thing for me. I was a big snacker..not anymore! No snacking at all anymore, no before bedtime snacks, and I don't even want it! I don't feel deprived of a thing..just because I feel THAT good.
Now you know what to do. Click on that banner above and get your Reset. I will coach you day in and day out throughout your whole journey. It's worth the investment, if you are going to invest in anything-invest in YOU first. You will be SO THANKFUL that you did.
I FEEL ALIVE!!!!

Day 7-Ultimate Reset
Today has been a GREAT day..so far. Ha. It was busy-so I think that helped alot. I had to have my 3 year old INTERVIEWED for preschool (??!) and it stressed me out. They took her away and we weren't allowed in the room. Cue mommy anxiety. But she did good! HOORAY she was accepted. This is like collage these days I swear. She'll be taking like full on subjects like art, math, science and social studies. WOW. And she's not even 4 yet. I think she's ready to be challenged though. She is much different than Alana (Alana is a social butterfly and has a "SQUIRREL" type of mentality) while Isabel (my 3 year old) is very focused, introverted, and borderline OCD. She'll take over that classroom LIKE A BOSS.
But back to the Reset. Slept GREAT. Emotions have been stable today-I went shopping and everything without killing someone. Progress. I haven't been hungry at all-sure I look forward to my meals-but I'm not like, STARVING before them. Headaches completely gone, as well as body aches. I recommend that people who start this-take an epsom salt bath every night for 20 minutes to help with the detox and try dry brushing (its supposed to help with detoxing of your skin, which is your bodies largest organ).
SO YAY I'M GOOD TODAY! I honestly feel like at the end of this thing, I will still cook the same and everything. We are moving to a place soon that will have room for me to have a garden-so I'll be taking full advantage of that. The way I feel today-is definitely the best I've ever felt physically, and it's only day 7! :)
Till my next moodswing,

NOT HAPPY-Day 6 Ultimate Reset
So this morning I probaby could have pissed rainbows and glitter for you. I felt *THAT* good. Now I feel like piss ass. Not physically. Just like everyone around me could die. Ok not really but you know what I mean. I am just MAD. Angry. A bit depressed, and I honestly don't know why. I hear it's a "moment of emotional release" that tends to happen during this reset. Well shit-I hope it goes away soon or else I am going to run out for some vodka! (not really. sort of. j/k. sort of).
Sigh. So I'm going to keep on truckin'. I am going to put my faith in this system and give the program it's integrity, as it was designed by experts and I know the end results will be SO worth it. As you can see, emotions change quick on this. Yeah-it makes you a wee bit bi-polar. Whatever. I just told Jason I feel like punching him in the face. In week 3 people say this shit stabilizes. THANK GOD.
Onto another day..

ultimate reset day 6
Good morning Day 6!
I like Day 6, and Day 6 likes me. I SLEPT SO GOOD last night-WOW! This morning breakfast called for a spinach and garbanzo bean concoction with some avocado, but then I realized I ate the last of my avocado yesterday during lunch or something. So back to my fruit compilation for breakfast today. The GREAT thing about this Reset is that if you don't like something that is scheduled to eat on your meal plan, you can pick and choose from meals in the week you are in. Heck, you could eat the same thing every day if you wanted to (again, in the same week though). Sometimes I ran out of certain ingredients and had to do some fishing in the cooking guide to find something that I could cook for certain meals-and that's totally ok-love it. I'm getting some adversity to my decision to make my 21 day reset only 14 days-but honestly I ate cleaner than what is on week 1 (no meat or dairy and lots of greens and fruits), and I drank as much water too. I will be continuing with the maintenance phase and you still have to eat the same for at least 3 weeks, while taking the supplements, so I know I will reap the same benefits. Carnivores and Herbivores sometimes butt heads, but I'm used to it. :) Disclaimer: NOT knocking carnivores-to each their own! I had to make the switch to vegetarian first and foremost because of my health. High Cholesterol is genetic in my family, as well as my husband's. Cholesterol is found in meat. No brainer to cut that out so we don't have to go on meds. And it worked! (with the help of Shakeology-it was a SLAM DUNK!) Eventually I just progressed to Vegan for personal reasons, and I'm happy with that. My husband is still a vegetarian, and he's happy in that spot-so goes to show you how everyone can make their own choices-even living under the same roof. ;)
So make good decisions for YOU. Be mindful and present today. Write everything down you are eating if you are going for weightloss. Add up those calories (My Fitness Pal is a great app on smart phones to track calories). Move your body. Truly appreciate the food you are eating and how it was prepared. The food you eat is a GIFT-treat it as such when you are eating.
Till next time,
-DB

Day 5 coming to a close!
I'm over the little emotional/physical hurdle I was experiencing and I think I see the light!
So-closing up day 5, food was great as usual, and my energy levels were better. I even forgot to take my afternoon snack, which is always optional. I think things are finally leveling out, which is a wonderful thing. I can almost "feel" myself breaking bad food addictions and habits. The amount of water I drink a day is now a normal thing, and not something "forced." On another note-I talked to some people about my predicament that I had. I went in on week 2-supplements and everything, planning on staying on week 2 for 2 weeks. Well, crazy thing is, I didn't think that the amount of supplements they gave us in the kit were not meant to be done that way (DUH). It was meant for the general population of carnivores, and week one is designed to wean you off of all meat and dairy. Since I was already vegan (50% raw vegan at times, if not more), I was not about to go back and starting eating meat, to only wean off of it again. That detox was ROUGH-did it once, no more! Ha. So-in conclusion, I'm only doing a 2 week Reset, as I already have weaned off of meat and dairy for some time now. But, I will still continue with the supplements and still eat the same way. I'm addicted to the food and the recipes that are in this thing! There is a guideline in the Reset that tells you when to "reintroduce" certain foods to your diet-and that I will definitely follow. I'm excited so see how this final week plays out! Until tomorrow morning..

Day 5 Ultimate Reset
I am going to be honest. Last night was tough. Like I have mentioned before, days 3-5 are the hardest. They were right! I thought I was good to go, until about 7pm. We started talking about my daughter's upcoming birthday and the CAKE and all sorts of other stuff. Of course her birthday falls in line during my reset--so no cake for me. This almost sent me to TEARS. And off to my bedroom I went and I fell into a depression of sorts. Again-all these emotions are on the Reset Guide. I sort of brushed it off, like "nah, that won't happen to me!"...think again! I slept like crap last night but today I feel ok. This relationship with food-IT IS REAL and we need to address it from time to time. I can see now that I have a comfort eating habit, which is now being broken, and it's putting me down in the dumps emotionally. I know it's temporary-so that is the hope I am holding onto. I know I will feel like a new person soon. But now, these past couple days-not easy. OK-time for some positives!
-I am forming a new relationship with food. Food is now my fuel, AND my friend. I am blessed to eat on a normal basis, and I get to try new food that I've never eaten before. Talk about adventure!
-To actually sit and eat a piece of food, think about the taste, chew for 30 bites-it's sort of enlightening.
-I wake up every day, with more and more energy. No caffeine, and no alcohol sickness (from evening before, ha!)
-My time with my family is special. I savor every second.
-My mental clarity is increasing every day, and I feel more focused.
Till next meal! (oh my breakfast was a big bowl of fresh fruit-delicious!)

Lunch Day 4
So, I'm experiencing a new symptom of this Reset. DIZZINESS!!
This is how I feel right now:
It's pretty rough. Lunch was delicious today though! I had the same quinoa based YUMMY recipe from last night's dinner, and a "micronutrient green salad"....which is an odd salad I must say. And it takes like 30 minutes to prepare because you have to chop SO MANY things. But in the end..it's good. My water intake is around 2 gallons a day. CRAZY!
Pray that I don't run into a wall. I feel like I drank 27 beers and I'm experiencing the spins. MMmm. Beer. ((slaps self)). None of that for awhile!

Day 4 Ultimate Reset
And HERE WE GO! Another day. Another Reset Breakfast has been consumed. I feel GREAT. I slept like a baby last night, and I have been going to sleep at like 830pm! I'm usually the night owl-not so much anymore. But I'm ok with that. The scale is consistantly dropping-and I know my body is detoxing and cleansing in a safe, gentle, and natural manner. Inflammation is currently being conquered, and water weight is being shed. I feel more focused today, and that is a new thing for this Reset. I hear it just gets better and better every day, which is truly amazing to me. I have to start prepping for lunch already in an hour-since this dish is pretty fiesty-as far as difficulty factor. I mean, not really difficult, just ALOT OF CHOPPING, of a million fresh ingredients omg. My daughter climbed into my bed for her morning cuddle time with mommy, and I told her "Good morning!" in her ear. Her reply? "Mommy, your breath hurts me!" Pfft. Anyway, I shall post more later with something else. Who knows.
-DB
P.S. I'm in the "Release" phase of this. I AM SOOO RELEASING. Juss sayin.

Day 3 coming to a close..
So tonight's Ultimate Reset dinner was CRAZY! In a good way though. It was a quinoa based recipe, but what was IN it was magical..the perfect medley of veggies and condiments made it wonderful to prepare (as the whole house smelled of Thanksgiving!) and even better to eat. I'm learning alot on this cleanse. Even though it's only Day 3. Preparing the food is almost therapy for me. I take my time. I usually have a smile on my face while doing so. Just simply "knowing" that I'm putting the freshest, most natural food out there, that I KNOW will make me healthy-well, it's just a fantastic feeling! Watching all the recipes come together (and I am NO cook), and it actually satisfies me in a totally different way-much different than snarfing down some pizza. I realize I don't have to be "stuffed" to not be hungry. I know it all sounds crazy, but it's just one of those feelings I realized today. I can say I am completely satisfied.

Ok I feel better
I just had my lunch and alot of water, and VOILA-headache gone and I feel good again. Still a bit tired. But nothing intolerable. I may take another nap later, but that's expected. I feel the need to take some epsom salt baths, because OMG my body feels so SORE! And while I was reading the guide today, that's a major side effect. Who knew? They say even though I'm not working out at all-this is a MAJOR workout for your insides, and it's getting rid of all the toxic buildup all the way through your muscles and even your skin. Hence sore muscles. Well alrighty then. Bring it on!

It's true
OK. So I'm just being real. When they said Days 3-5 are tough-THE WERE NOT JOKING. I have a massive headache and just wokeup from 1 of many naps today I'm sure. SOOO TIRED OMG. My stomach is making funky noises and my kids are making my ears bleed.
I'm sure this will pass and I'll post pictures of glitter and rainbows. And I won't ship my kids to Africa. Promise.

p.s. Lunch soon!

Dinner was a smash!
Ok-so I am not a cook, by any means. I can boil stuff-but that is about the limit of my abilities. I had some qualms going into this whole Reset thing because I literally have to make all of my meals from scratch. Tonight was a bit of a challenge! I had to make red pepper roasted sweet potato soup (with a side of green beans). OMG. Who KNEW that you could straight up slam a whole red pepper on your stovetop-no pan, nothing, and just let it sit there to "roast" ?! I thought the house would go up in flames-stat. But it didn't. After roasting, the directions said to hold the pepper under cold water and the skin would come off. Uhm. OK. I will follow your directions; Ultimate Reset. AND-YOU WERE RIGHT, IT DID. It just slipped off and I had beautifully roasted red pepper to blend with my sweet potato and add some other magical stuff and I MADE SOUP. And it was friggin delicious! This is how I can accurately depict myself as a cook in this moment:

I'm tired
Ok so it's almost 430. Day 2 of this Reset. I just woke up from an hour nap that was GLORIOUS, drank an ungodly amount of distilled water with magic drops, and also this green powder that makes me want to gag a thousand gags. I'd compare the taste of the green shit alkaline powder to that of The Green Giants dirrty sweat socks afer a long walk in his green bean park. I have to have a chaser of more water after I chug that shiz. Anyway-I'm taking my snacktime today (it's always been an optional thing) because my hunger level is about a 7 out of 10 right now. So in about 3 minutes I will have my Tropical Shakeology (SO HAPPY I CAN STILL HAVE THIS ON THIS CLEANSE!), and then in 2 hours-dinner. Which looks pretty tasty btw. Some kind of sweet potato red pepper soup and asparagus. Yum! I am almost out of water-I figured by my gallon jugs that I've been going through-I've been drinking close to 1 gallon of water a day, if not more. My cravings haven't been too bad, although a glass of wine would be nice right now! But I shall stay strong. I'm just happy I got the green powder down my throat without vomiting. Yes, it tastes like shit, but it is good for me, so it will stay.

Ultimate Reset Day 2, part 1 of many throughout the day I'm sure
I'm gonna eat WHAT for breakfast????
My face exactly as I looked at today's Breakfast in this Reset thingy. Not joking.
Today on the menue was this:
Miso soup (YES-miso soup for BREAKFAST)
1/4 of an avocado
a mixture "mash" of 1/2 cup chick peas, a sheet of nori, and sesame seeds. (??)
Can I tell you it was ACTUALLY really tasty? IT WAS. And filling! This is after eating a bazillion gallons of water that have been oxygenated (don't even ask) and mineralized and distilled. I'm drinking more water as we speak. I mean type. I hear there is a method to all this madness and that it all works together to clean me out in a gentle way. Lord I hope so. I'm in the "Release Phase" of this whole thing, and yes I have been releasing. The first week of this thang weans you off of meat and dairy. Since I was already a vegan, I got the go ahead to skip to week 2 and do it twice. Word. I slept well last night, and I hear sleep is magically delicious after these 21 days. YAY!
Ok I will blog later when I eat my next shocking meal.
P.S. I feel a bit asian after that breakfast.
P.P.S. I am kind of tired, may take a nap. Which is totally allowed, and totally awesome.

Yeah, I know. It's been awhile.
What can I say? I only write when I feel like it. And I feel like it today. Because today I have embarked on this little doozy.
The Beachbody Ultimate Reset
Today is Day 1.
Yeah. For 21 days I'm going to be drinking some funky green stuff to make me more "alkaline," take some all natural supplements, and eat a wee bit differently. It's supposed to be like, amazeballs for your body and you will feel like a new born baby that just came out of your momma's vagina. It's not a harsh cleanse or detox at all-if you could press control alt. delete on your body, that is what this cleanse will do for you. To be honest-it's 1pm right now. I'm a bit hungry. Not like STARVING. But hungry. I can't even workout for 21 days because all of your energy needs to go to digestion and detox. Well ok then. Some of my friends just finished and they are like balls to the wall happy with their results. Some losing 1-2 lbs a day. That's crazy. And WTF I just started my period. Probably not the best thing to start, but whatev's. And of course Jason bought me wine. auqr98rywiaoher9!!!! Sigh. I don't always Cleanse, but when I do, I use Beachbody's Ultimate Reset. Stay healthy my friends.

THE opportunity that is waiting for YOU.
It's time for you to say, YES. Make the decision. Becoming a Beachbody Coach has changed my life 10 fold. It keeps me ACCOUNTABLE TO MYSELF so I don't ever fall off the wagon. Every day is better. Every day I impact someones life! If you have done any of the Beachbody programs, and have recommended it to anyone-like-ever....you have been Coaching, and have not reaped the FULL rewards of it. Yes-you led them to a healthier lifestyle-but did you know you could get cash dollar dollar bills for doing JUST THAT? It really IS that easy. We can end the aweful trend of obesity in America (and you can get rewarded for doing that in so many ways!). But you have to make the decision-right now-to be a coach on my team. Stop putting it off, now IS the time.

Verticle Vom
Nope it didn't happen. I didn't vomit, but I was scarily close to it. And after looking at this, I might now:
Do you think he's sexy? barf.
So, yesterday I didn't quite keep up with a "clean" eating day. Hey, it's summer practically in Charleston already. And that means boating, going to the pool and drinking alot of adult beverages. Hydration pretty much goes out the window. I'm working on that, but it's tough. I felt it today when I did Verticle Plyo. I'm getting more "used" to the workouts, and I see changes in my body only after 2 weeks. But, I know that they could be better if I cleaned things up a bit, diet wise. I work alot with the 80/20 rule-I eat clean 80% of the time, and 20%-I do whatever the heck I want. I save that 20 for things like birthday parties, pool parties, and boat days. And there's alot of that in the Summer. Hence my struggle. Well, we all have our vices-and that's mine! I find that coconut water helps a TON with hydration if I didn't do so good on a particular day, and also taking my BCAAS and L-Glutamine; pre and post workout. They are amino acids and aid in performance, repair, and recovery. I add that to my Results and Recovery drink post workout, and take more pre workout, in capsule form. It helps ALOT, and I'm not going to post why-because it's really science-y and I barely understand it myself-let alone try to explain it to the 2 people that read this blog. Also, a high fiber diet helps with just-everything...and not just pooping on the daily. I can give you good websites though to learn, and to purchase to improve your quality of life.
www.bodybuilding.com <--great articles to learn about EVERYTHING fitness related, and a store to buy supplements-such as L-Glutamine and BCAAS.
www.barndadnutrition.com <---FIBER. It's a different kind of fiber that's just better than the rest. Helps with weight management, controls hunger, and helps with keeping your cholesterol in check. They also have these KILLER biscotti fiber cookies-OH SO GOOD!

www.anglefoods.com <--Kurt Angle developed a food line that includes DELICIOUS healthy frozen pizzas that are high in fiber and protein. They make me smile times a million.
So you see there is a balance you need to find. I *think* I found mine. But it's ALWAYS a daily decision, and NOT always easy. Do you want to get fitter? Or Fatter? Or shorten your lifespan? Pass good lifestyle choices to your kids, family, and friends? Does that sound good to you? I hope so.

I don't even know what day it is anymore. All I know is that this workout was HARD.
Ok I lied. I just finished lucky number Day 13 in Insanity: The Asylum. The only reason I know that is because I have this dang huge wall calander staring me in the face as soon as I get up in the morning. It's like a date with the devil. Hey do you guys know what Selecttech dumbbells are? Well, we got a killer set with a stand and everything off of Craigslist for $200 bucks (love a deal) and I heart them with everything that I have. For those that do know a thing about them, you know that you can increase the weight by .5 lb's if you want. So, everytime I workout, I try to "fool" my body and increase weight by a half a pound. I mean, it's (my body) not going to notice that, it's just not. WRONG. I was spewing sweat from every pore of my body times a million more than any other workout I've done to date. EVER. J got sneaky on me and took this pic ON MY VERY LAST SET. And then told me to hold that pose. I was like, "ARE YOU KIDDING?!" I can barely hold these things in my hand, let alone have an impromptu photoshoot when I'm this spent. But, he did get a good pic. I think. I look like I may kill someone, but, that's just me in general. This program is no joke. I say that alot-but it's the friggin' truth.

I'm getting all bible-y on you today
Someone piss you off today? Someone pissed me off, and this cat.
Angry people usually justify their anger, saying it's someone else's fault they are angry. Yet the Bible repeatedly warns us against giving in to anger when we are upset by other people's words or actions.
There is such a thing as righteous anger. And sometimes we need to talk about problems or deal with dangerous situations. (Even at these times, we must exercise self-control.) Yet most of the time, our anger is not righteous. As James wrote, "Man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires" (James 1:20).
When we give in to anger, we often focus on our own welfare, comfort or happiness. Instead, we should be primarily concerned about other people’s welfare and being a good witness for God.
God does not want us to simply react emotionally to others' actions. Instead, we should respond with wisdom and a gentle spirit.
...That said-it's ok to be angry. Anger is a natural emotion. We can control how we respond to anger though..whether your are responding to the one who made you apeshit crazy, or you are talking to someone else about how that person made you apeshit crazy. You shouldn't do that. I shouldn't do that. We aren't perfect. We mess up. But it's ok. It's how we handle ourselves that really makes a difference. Are you going to hold on to that anger, or are you going to let it go? I'll tell you what, staying angry at someone, or refusing to not change your attitude-is absolutely IGNORANT!! And not to mention-completely time consuming-emotionally and physically! Get on with your day, get over it, and get back to work-whatever it is that you do. Next time you are pissed off, do this:
OH HOW IT HELPS. I'm on Day 7 of Asylum BTW. It was "Strength" again. Boy-this workout WORKS YA. I upped my weights-but I payed for it! Tons more sweating and groaning and maybe a little pee in the pants. But I made it. And I may even say I like the workouts now?? Maybe. (Like when it's over).
Aaaaaand this picture just because its' soooo something I would do to scare the crap out of my kids:
