TIRED/sore/PAIN and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISABEL!

I woke up at 4 AM PEOPLE. Why? Because I am in pain. Oh the brutality. Sore as hell from *Idontevenwannasaythenameanymore* you know what. I had the computer close by (btw that is not me pictured above, but a close comparison) so I decided to complain about it-to you. You're welcome. I have the jumpy workout today. WTH. This week is going to be wrong on so many levels so expect aLOT of craptastic whiney blogposts. I want my Shakeology soooooo bad but I cant even fathom walking downstairs for it. Maybe I'll do this instead:
Again-this is NOT me. But I'm totes jealous and wish I had it. Within arms reach.

In other news: MY BABY IS THREE YEARS OLD TODAY! Time REALLY does fly-and you know I used to HATE when people said that-because time doesn't really "fly" around. It just happens when your not doing anything. Or doing too much you forget that amazing crap is happening all around you. I prefer to be in the middle. Anyway-I went through 6 hours of natural birth with that little bugger-and I still remember the feeling of the bowling ballprecious baby ripping through my vag. Someone once told me that pushing a baby out actually "feels good." WTH. It does not feel good, and you poop on the table. Not fun. Especially for those in the room. But it was all worth it for my Isabel. Happy Birfday sweet thing. I will post updated pics of this angel for you later. When I'm more awake and able to move.

Verticle Plyo

Or a better title would be "Welcome to Crazy Town."

This is how I felt today during todays workout. Roadkill.
Graceful.

Anywho-Shaun. Me and you might have problems if I ever see you. Or I might just give you a hug. Probably the latter, but I *may* punch you in the kidneys during that hug. WTH. Verticle PLYO??! How about "Verticle HELL." or "Imma look like a moron plyo." UUUUGGGH. God I pray this gets easier. I swear, regular power jumps and tuck jumps look like childs play to me right now. Imagine doing all that-but with BANDS wrapped around your wrists and ankles. While trying to be agile on a ladder. Then doing ACTIVE REST-but not really. Active rest to Shaun means speedroping on ONE leg, and then switching, and then doing speedrope but landing in a SQUAT, then speedroping with high knees at double time. F. Granted, it was a shorter workout, I think. I could be wrong. I'm wrong about alot of stuff. But at the end I was just like, "Did that really just happen?" WHY OH WHY do I do this to myself. Oh, right. Because I'm an idiot. I didn't throw up (almost did) so I consider that a success in a way. Now listen to me-if you haven't done Insanity and something else like P90X, you do NOT need to even THINK about doing Asylum. You will get your arse handed to you in the first workout-well really in the fit test alone. And don't be an idiot and do doubles while on the Asylum schedule. There is a reason it's only a 30 day program. You can't do a schedule like this for any longer than that. And if you do, you might as well say good bye to your knees. It WILL catch up with you. TAKE THE REST DAY. Tomorrow is my rest day (WOOOHOOO!!!) and I am doing just that, beingaslazyaspossible RESTING. All in all, I still love this program. This is BEYOND pushing passed physical limitations for me, which I think I needed. Discomfort and all that comes with that is something that should be embraced-because that's where change comes into play! Physically and mentally. Embrace the discomfort!

So.So.So. SOAR!

Words. I need to find the words that describe the soreness in my body from just doing the FIT TEST that is only 25 minutes long from INSANITY: THE ASYLUM. Granted; I did do an hour of cardio earlier in the day...but DANG. I'm skeered for today's workout! A little more about the workout program itself: It comes with a nutrition guide which is VERY doable and looks yum to me. It also comes with an agility ladder (which I have never worked with, and uhm..not very good at doing "drills" with it). And a jump rope. You think it would be like grade school jumping rope, no it is not. It's a speed rope, and he has you doing that shiz for a long period of time, and FAST. Power jumps from Insanity now seem like skips in the park compared to the jumps in this program that I've seen and done. It incororates speed, agility, and all kinds of other crap to help you excel in every sport ever created by man. Like the stuff pro athletes do. OY. Ok I'm barely awake now, so I'm going to leave this blog post at that. I need to get my mindset right so I can do this workout. Yikes.

soar demz.

IntervalX vs. INSANITY

NOTE-the opinions that follow are those of my own and do not represent those of Beachbody or anything related.

So-which one is better..I'm not quite sure. Which one burns more calories...It varies from person to person, of course. Do they both make you 'workout in a puddle of your own sweat' and make you say "ma-ma," YES! One thing I do notice about these 2 workouts is that IntervalX (which is apart of the P90X+ system BTW), is that it gets going right out the gate. There is only 1, I repeat, 1 BREAK in the whole thing. And I feel that it better hits different parts of the body with the wide array of movements, and how Tony H. heats up the intervals in 3 stages; the first stage in the movement being the "starting" point for 20 seconds, then the second stage is intensified and faster, and the third being, excuse my french, balls to the wall speedy and deep. Some moves HURT (in a good way of course), and there really is just DNA flying everywhere and always that tell tale puddle of sweat beneath me.

On to INSANITY, which I got as a preview. It was a Cardio Plyo circuit, I forget the exact name of it. There are alot of breaks in the program. Like IntervalX, it gets going pretty quick, but with really basic movements for the warmup. By the end of the warm up, you are sweaty. Alot of the sweat starts pouring during the stretch that follows, because you stop suddenly with the cardio warmup. But make no mistake-Shaun T brings the heat as well. There wasn't alot of "burning" so to speak (like in alot of Tony's moves), but alot of cardiovascular, "I'm so out of breath I'm going to puke" kind of thing. I'm sure there is a HUGE calorie burn in this DVD--but not alot of 'strain that produces muscles' kind of thing. Again, I could be totally wrong, but it's just what I think. For some people-this will be perfect for, and I'm excited to see how it plays out in people's lives. I am definitely going to mix it up and get it when it comes out, but I will still be doing IntervalX as well.:)

Why the comparison, you ask? Well, I did IntervalX today, and it was just on my mind during the workout, like, "Is what I'm doing now, harder than Insanity when I did it for the first time a week ago?" At that point it would have been a big fat NO. When it was over though, I had enough time to contemplate both workouts in my head. My conclusion is that depending on where you are in your fitness journey and what you want out of it, will determine which system you get. If you are feeling frisky, get both, and try them both. I myself am incorporating it all into my fit regime, but I am a little crazy, and I incorporate ALOT of Beachbody workouts together now. Soon enough, you will probably do the same thing.

As always,

In Health!

Plyometrics

I know write about it alot. But let me tell you something.

It was actually, dare I say-kind of easy!

I never thought I would type those words. But seriously, the only thing that I really can't stand, and that's still always hard is the "switch 180 squat jumps." Those get my legs nice and burning. The last couple cycles are ALWAYS hard, and I'm sweaty beyond belief-don't get me wrong. But I remember during even the first couple cycles, I would be out of breath, DYING feeling, it was SO hard for me in the past. Today, I was barely in a sweat (just in the beginning), and I felt great! I kept up with Dom, and I felt like I could do anything!

Date night tonight-I'm going to wear something SEXAY that will make Jason's head spin! haha :)

Plyometrics-Phase 3

WOW.

Plyometrics. What is it, you ask? Jump training. And not just 10-12 reps of box jumping and you're done..1 full friggin' hour of it. By the end..no, actually by the middle, you feel like puking, your legs are on fire..but for some reason, you keep going. It's amazing what your body can go through.

Then you have a recovery drink. Whether it's one through the system-or whatever you choose to repair your body in those crucial 15-60 minutes post workout, you feel fine again. Amazing.

Clothes start feeling looser. You feel more "sprite." Your day suddenly just got alot more productive.

My point is: Don't believe that the state you are in, is it forever. You can change it. It just takes heart, determination, and guts. Leave your blood, sweat and tears on your workout mat. Don't fuel your body with garbage.

Eat to Live, NOT live to eat.

God Bless.

Core Synergistics

OK-the first time I did this workout, I was still learning all the moves, and took it pretty easy. Well, this morning I was pretty amp'd about doing it again, because I remember how fun it was. It incorporates EVERYTHING, every single muscle in your body, focusing on core strength. Who doesn't need more of that?? Anywho, I was in a flop sweat during the warm up. That's when you know it's going to be a great workout! And by the end, wow..I was sweatier than after plyo even and I felt like superwoman. Good stuff!!

So much to share

TOP NEWS....

-Isabel is on the healing road! She still has a UTI but nothing shows that it has spread. She still has to get some nasty testing done, but we are faithful that nothing new will show up. Just some (a little!) discomfort.

-Plyometrics totally kicked my ass today. I got up super early at 545 to get the workout done before my daughters' christmas program at her school..well I felt super energetic and I put ALOT of effort into it. I felt good. Then came 2 hours later. I feel so flipping sore..it's very comparible to when I ran the marathon. UUUGH.

-Alana had her 1st Grade Christmas Program today!! It was AWESOME! She did so good, she was wearing her little crown, and she sang her heart out. There is a video (a couple actually) that I am posting. In the one video there is a brief, HALARIOUS solo done by one of Alana's friends. Not knocking on her or anything, but it was funny!

The above photos are from this morning at the show. Poopah came along for the ride too. We had a great time!

Holy..mother..of Mary..OMG!

I did PLYOMETRICS today.

Holy crap. That sh*t is HARD!!

There were so many times I almost gave up, but I didn't, and I'm glad I didn't. My butt and legs ARE SORE as crap, and so is my midsection. So that's good. I'm a sucker for soreness...I know I did the work I needed to. Twisted? Yeah, pretty much.

P90X is pretty much for crazy people.

I'm a perfect candidate!
