SORENESS. Friend or Foe?

I really do love waking up and feeling sore. I do. Call me a masochist. Whatever. The soreness we experience after workouts are really the body’s natural response to pushing yourself to a higher level of physical activity than it’s normally used to, and a part of our body’s normal process of adaptation. This is an amazing progression in which our body breaks down, then starts the recovery process, heals and rebuilds. As a result, we get stronger (the process of building muscle). We will notice that the soreness usually hits you the second day after your physical activity (DOMS-"Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and after a day or so of uncomfortable soreness, you get progressively better and soon return to feeling your normal self. So this is something that I love to feel-BUT! If the soreness is messing with your sleep patters, you are angry all the time, you lack appetite-THAN it can lead to overtraining. That's a whole 'nother beast so I suggest you let Google help you with that. The following pic is something I won't do. Not that I CAN'T DO IT, because I CAN, (not really), but I still think it's a cool pic. Plus I would be worried about getting ran over. And that would definitely make me sore.
OK-so today is my oldest daughter's graduation day from 4th grade! Bring on the Summer sand and water. Will post more pics laters. -DB

It's fun to take tampons with you on boats. (not really).

Oh South Carolina, I love you. Thank you for getting warmer than everywhere else in the USA (usually). This makes me happy. I will be on a boat today (duh), and yeah so I just finished Verticle Plyo. Ouch. <--How's that for a run on sentence? Whatever. My fingers are still shaking from this beyatch of a workout. The thing with Asylum is that the more you do it-you become better. So you push harder. But then it's just as hard as the first time you did it. You still sweat and groan just as much. And cry and pee a little. So IT'S ALWAYS HARD. Do you understand this yet? Ok. Just making sure. I'm pretty much done with week 2. Crazy, no? I do have "Relief" tomorrow but that is just stretching, which I will fo' sho' need. I will post week 2 pics soon. I must consume food and try not to eat the entire house. J just went food shopping too. Shiot.

Thanks for reading this crapfest. -Demi

You still have time...

If you are the type that goes to the beach with trepidation, wondering what people will think of you in a swimsuit...or if every passing person, you compare your body to their's, know it's an issue that can be dealt with. And also know that you are not alone on that, I used to be that way too. It took time, discipline, sweat, and alot of prayer, but it's a "rut" that is BUSTABLE!

Whether it's 10 lbs you have to lose, or 100, or 200, or more...Beachbody Programs have something that is tailored exactly for you.

No matter what, you have to be happy with yourself first. The hardest step is always the very first one, and after that, you WILL be hooked and on your way to better health! If you need help, our coaches are only a call/email/msg away.

If progress is being made-your CONFIDENCE will soar, and you will strut your stuff this summer on that beach or pool, and in daily life. Your ensuing happiness will be contagious to everyone around you.

Not many programs can make promises like that-but these programs CAN. I can help you accomplish your goals, or any of the fine coaches on my sidebar can. (Peruse through, and see which one you think will be good for YOU. If it's me, that's fine too, I love to Coach! And so do all of the other's..Thing is, they (and I) love what we do. It's also an option to do this as well, to lose weight, and make money...does it get any better than that?

Do you know you also get 25% off all products from Beachbody if you are a coach?
Ain't no shame in that if that's what you sign up for! That's what drew me in too!

What we care about, above all else, above looking good in a bathing suit, is YOUR HEALTH! Everything else will just fall into place. The first step is always the hardest and scariest, but with that leap of faith, will come great rewards.

Take that leap!

Bikini or moo-moo? You decide.

I posted this on Facebook too...

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Get Healthy, People!

I don't think people realize how good working out makes you feel. How good "clean" eating makes you feel. To be committed to yourself, and treating your body as a temple, now that's a great thing.

Alot of gals (and guys!) out there are probably dreading swimsuit season right about now. But guess what? You STILL have plenty of time to look good in it. You STILL have time to feel good from the inside out. You STILL have time to change your life. A good life starts with a healthy YOU. When you are healthy, everybody else that touches your life will benefit from it, i.e. your kids, husband, friends. Obesity is at an all time high, and it just keeps getting passed down. Do you want to pass down obesity, and all the health hazards that come with that to your children? I know you don't.

Don't have time? Well...I think you do. You just have to make time for it. One program through Beachbody is geared for the busiest of people..if you have 10 minutes a day, then you have no excuses!

If you have more than 10 minutes, even better. There are a smorgasborg of programs through Beachbody that promise to get you fit, ripped, toned, and healthy. AND, you can do it all at home. Have a DVD player? That's all you need!

If you're ready to make a change, I can help you choose which one is right for you. Free coaching is provided by myself along your whole journey.

In these tough times, people are cancelling their gym memberships left and right. I was one of those. And you know what? P90X (a program through Beachbody) gave me WAY better results than any day I did in the gym, and I was studying to be a certified personal trainer! If anyone "knew" how to work out..it should have been me. Boy, was I wrong. Beachbody taught me things I never knew..gave me new moves, insight, and knowledge that is on the forefront of health and fitness. Plus, it was lighter on my wallet than shelling out expensive monthly gym dues.
