So what is the point of all this ANYWAY?

Why am I involved with health and fitness? Why am I trying to get YOU healthy? Why do I write this blog talking about all this? Why SHOULD YOU CARE? To start off-I will share WHY I started doing all this. In case you didn't know already. I USED TO BE FAT. Like not just, "OH-I just had a baby, NBD..." YEAH-6 MONTHS AGO. Anyway-I'm 5"4, and at my heaviest I was inching towards 170 lbs. That's not very cute. I mean, I used to do fitness modeling, I was so comfortable in my own skin, and now, NOW..I was this chubby girl that couldn't fit into any of her clothes. I had NO waistline, I was wearing mom jeans, tights (OMG TIGHTS ERRRYDAY), and my husband's tshirts. I was so close to becoming that schoolyard everyday mom. (NOT bashing anyone here, it just isn't me). I KNEW I was created and destined to do so much more. I KNEW that I needed help. I was straight up-ADDICTED TO FOOD. It was my comfort and my solice. I didn't have anything but my family, and my food. Plus the fact that I'm puertorican, and my parents live very close to me-so they were more than willing to stuff my pie hole with all the greasy goodness (which in moderation, I still enjoy). Like EVERYONE says, late at night while inhaling icecream straight out of a gallon bucket, alternating with swigs of wine-the P90X infomercial came on. Being a former Marine-that's when everything hit me like a sledgehammer. I was the most happiest with my body when I was in the Marines (when I was crazy active). P90X seemed alot like what we used to do in the Marines-so I KNEW that's what I needed. My personality type is one of that is you remove pain and agony-LIKE A BANDAID. Go hard or go home. That's just me. So I ordered right then and there. When it came-I didn't have any equipment. I did have a strength band though. So I looped my band around my stairwell, and modified pullups. We used to go to Sams Club alot-so I had these huge Aunt Jemima gallon containers of syrup. They each weighed 5 lbs. And I had 2 of them! (NO EXCUSES!!) So I used Aunt Jemima syrup bottles for alot of my weighted excercises in my first month and followed the nutrition plan exactly as written. No cheats, nothing. First month-I lost 10 lbs. I was CRAZY HAPPY. So that definitely motivated me into the rest of my transformation journey, and slowly-I started to purchase weights, until I had a miscolored, rusted out weightset that went up to 20lbs! Then I FINALLY got the pullup bar. As my first 90 days came to a close-I lost almost 30 lbs. And then the craziest thing happened-I WON $10,000 FOR DOING THIS!! *THANKS BEACHBODY*...I knew I could do more, so I went further and did more Beachbody Programs, and now I can say I am the fittest I have ever been. During my initial 90 days, that's when I decided to become a Beachbody Coach. I was helping people anyway by sharing my story. Why not get compensated for it? I mean-time IS money. Making that decision is what changed my life. I eventually was able to be a stay at home mom. I discovered I had a serious passion for helping people-because I was in their shoes! There IS a way out-through healthy nutrition, Shakeology, and sticking to fit programs 6 days a week-like P90X, TurboFire, P90X2, Insanity, RevAbs, and Les Mills Pump-I have the ultimate workout library that I know will always be there for me. And being a stay at home mom-this WORKS. I don't have to fuss with going to the gym, carting off the kids with me, etc. I can just do my workout as soon as I wake up, and I'm done. More time with my family and friends and a sleek healthy physique are my reward. And that can be your reward too! Whether it's by being client of mine, or being my business partner and becoming a Fitness Coach-I can help you-physically and financially. Bottom line. The choice is yours! P.S. 3 weeks post Ultimate Reset. Results still hold true and I feel amazing! I recommend this to everyone! Please comment with any questions! I would love to help you. -DB OH and here is my before pic, complete with monthly progress photos through P90X.. Isabel was around 5 months old in the first before pic. Before pic=NOT HOT.

Day 14-1 week left!

ONE MORE WEEK YA'LL. It's amazing how fast everything is going. I noticed on the diet that it gradually weaned me into just fruits and veggies-in CRAZYASS meals that were delicious, no grains! AND AND half RAW VEGAN eating. I didn't even notice it. The Reset will brainwash you. In a good way. I'm not hungry between meals, and I honestly just might give up on alcohol and all the bad stuff for good-just because of how good I feel. Today food was so friggin good and FILLING. Lunch had me with 2 big ass salads, one was our typical "microgreen salad" AND a "carrot seaweed Medley." BTW-those salads are HUGE. Then dinner. I had cold soup. Weird, no? I buckled down and ate it anyway, (RAW)cucumber avocado soup-with a HUGE helping of broiled veggies, and quinoa. I was SO STUFFED after the cold soup (it was still sooo good!) and the veggies-I gave my quinoa to my daughter. I gave up a grain. I don't even know who I am anymore. It was a struggle to get that meal down because I was just SO FULL. I felt like I was in an eating competition. Swears.
I'm full, happy, satisfied, and I feel good. Can't ask for more than that! OH btw-I'm doing a round of Asylum (from Insanity, it's a 30 day program) before I head to Vegas in June for our Annual Coach Summit. Gotta look fly. ;) Let me know if you want to join me by posting in the comments. You must purchase a Challenge Pack (the one with Asylum in it) to get in the group through www.beachbodycoach.com/demibean. You will see "Challenge Packs" on the side, click there and choose, add to cart, and check on out. And you are IN this SUPER secret VIP Challenge Group. I will hold you accountable and support you every step of the way. Plus I will be doing it with you, so I'll need your support as well! May 14th this Challenge Group fires up-so order your Challenge Pack NOW, so you have it in time for our group. OK-till tomorrow! -DB

Day 11 Ultimate Reset

Real quick blog post before I do some YOGA! :) Again-woke up feeling great! 7 lbs lost to date, and it just gets better, muscle tone is still there, like I knew it would be. I wanted to give you guys and gals an accountability pic as to what this Reset can do for you too. Remember-no working out on this thing. This is an internal body workout. At least once a year, every athlete or anyone who works out alot, NEEDS to take some time off for your body to rest and repair, and to prevent future injuries. Also when you workout-your body produces alot of ACID. Which isn't detrimental to your health, but your body just needs a BREAK from time to time. This Reset gives you that much needed break without losing muscle, you lean out alot, and you clear your body of all the acid, and all the toxins that have built up over time. Plus, I've been going out of the house without makeup on (a first!), because my skin is just so healthy right now. EVERYONE needs to do this. I was reluctant at first, but now I am SO thankful that I decided to do this. So. Here's my picture.
For once (after having 2 kids) I am NOT sucking it in, and I am NOT flexing for this picture. This is just naturally what is happening. And I'm happy with that! Can't wait to jump into my next workout program (Les Mills Pump) and really take my physicality to the next level. And I can't wait to see the end results of this Reset! Until Next Time-DB

You still have time...

If you are the type that goes to the beach with trepidation, wondering what people will think of you in a swimsuit...or if every passing person, you compare your body to their's, know it's an issue that can be dealt with. And also know that you are not alone on that, I used to be that way too. It took time, discipline, sweat, and alot of prayer, but it's a "rut" that is BUSTABLE!

Whether it's 10 lbs you have to lose, or 100, or 200, or more...Beachbody Programs have something that is tailored exactly for you.

No matter what, you have to be happy with yourself first. The hardest step is always the very first one, and after that, you WILL be hooked and on your way to better health! If you need help, our coaches are only a call/email/msg away.

If progress is being made-your CONFIDENCE will soar, and you will strut your stuff this summer on that beach or pool, and in daily life. Your ensuing happiness will be contagious to everyone around you.

Not many programs can make promises like that-but these programs CAN. I can help you accomplish your goals, or any of the fine coaches on my sidebar can. (Peruse through, and see which one you think will be good for YOU. If it's me, that's fine too, I love to Coach! And so do all of the other's..Thing is, they (and I) love what we do. It's also an option to do this as well, to lose weight, and make money...does it get any better than that?

Do you know you also get 25% off all products from Beachbody if you are a coach?
Ain't no shame in that if that's what you sign up for! That's what drew me in too!

What we care about, above all else, above looking good in a bathing suit, is YOUR HEALTH! Everything else will just fall into place. The first step is always the hardest and scariest, but with that leap of faith, will come great rewards.

Take that leap!

Day 1 of Week 7-P90X+

Well today is the start of week 7 in the + program, and I am so excited! I am HALF WAY DONE with the P90X+ and I couldn't be happier. I'll be moving on the the One on One programs, rotating it with the old stuff too. I'll actually create my "own" 90 day programs for myself, which will be fun! I will definitely be posting pics when I'm done-I haven't lost any weight-but my muscle mass has greatly improved, my back is super muscular and I have "guns." Not being narcissistic or anything, just telling the truth! I still have a little "pooch" area from having kids, but that takes awhile to go away-usually a year. But it's easily hidden, which is nice, even in bathing suits!

Can I just say how proud I am of our team! Every single one of you is an inspiration to others, remember that-you are a walking billboard for fitness. You can inspire others to get healthy, and actually prolong their lives-does it get any better than that?

If you want to be apart of this amazing team-just let me know! You too can be apart of this fitness revolution!

Right before I do my workout for the day...

I wanted to reiterate that buying Beachbody programs through the website and the infomercial will not get ME as your coach..you'll be assigned to someone that will probably never even be able to contact you! I LOVE coaching, and my promise to anyone who is considering a program through Beachbody, I strongly encourage you to order it through my website so I can be automatically assigned as your coach. Of course, if for some reason it doesn't happen, I will be more than happy to help you-it's about getting healthy! And who wouldn't want to be apart of someones transformation? I WOULD LOVE TO BE APART OF YOURS!

Week 10-SMASHED

I know, I am a cornball. :)

Anywho-I've just completed week 10-as a doubles week-and tomorrow is stretchX. I'm definitely doing the Stretching and going for a light, easy jog to shake things out. The weather here is going to be beautiful, so I gotta take advantage!

So one thing I want to talk about is my past experiences in fitness. For those who know me, know that I used to be really into running. And that's ALL I would do. Run. Run. Then run some more. Me and my hubby even trained and ran/completed the Marine Corps Marathon. Awesome experience, but heck, I was SICK of running to say the least. I still did it, because it does keep weight down, and does wonders for cardiovascular fitness. But I slacked in muscle. I was thin, but flabby. Not good.

So..I became a gym rat. For awhile, it was amazing. I got great results, I was featured in local fitness magazines and everything. Then..things just slowed down and I plateaued. I became sick of the whole, "run on treadmill, lift weights, stretch" routine, day in and day out.

Just in time to break me out of my rut, I got pregnant!! Woohoo! No more workouts for me! I mean, I did try. For a little while. Then I was like, heck, FORGET IT. I'm pregnant, and I'm going to eat whatever I want. Even if it was cheese and icecream at 3 am combined with a half gallon of milk. Baby needs calcium, right?

40 pounds later. 9 months later. I had a beautiful baby girl. And, I was FAT. But hey, I just had a baby, so I didn't feel too guilty. Uhhm, 6 months later..I couldn't quite use the "I just had a baby" excuse. Yeah, 6 months ago!

That, my friends, is where MY transformation began. I (along with probably everyone else) saw the infomercial, and thought about it. Then my lovely friend Jessica told me she was going to do it. I thought, you know, if there ever is a time to do it, now would be good, because then I would have a friend to do it with, and have accountability. Order was made, shipped, and delivered.

Little did I know what I was getting myself into. I'm all about "bringing the pain" and working out until absolute exhaustion. So when I puked halfway through the first workout, I thought, "Perfect!". This-is exactly what I need.

I kept pushing play. I kept eating what I was supposed to (with a few flubs here and there, but hey, no ones perfect :))..and now, 21 or so pounds lighter, and even more inches lost (which is more important than poundage-remember that!) I am a new person. Sh*t, If I can do plyometrics for an hour-I can do anything! Even my husband won't attempt it after watching me do it one time. Bless his hottie little heart-love him!

This is not just some silly little thing that you do because you just want to look great in a dress or bikini (although-you will!), it's a lifelong lifestyle change. If you are ready for THAT, Let me know. I'm not one for complainers that don't do anything to change their life. When you're done complaining and having a pity party-I can help you. Sounds harsh-but that's reality. Trust me, Tony Horton isn't much nicer. :)
