We, the Bean family, are officially in the middle of a lazy Sunday. I had an incredible nap, hubs is taking a nap now, as well as the baby. Alana is lounging around watching cartoons and all is great in the world. I *might* do yoga later, but that might just mess up our lazy pattern today. StretchX sounds more appealing, but we shall see.
So Jason is leaving me for 3 whole days, starting tomorrow! I feel completely helpless when he's not around. He's going to Charlotte, NC tomorrow to work on a house...and I'm going to miss him like crazy. Not to mention, the kids kind of go nuts when he's not around. He's the definition of Head of Household-and everyone knows it! Our family is SO much better because of him. Can I say how amazing he is? Well he's: understanding, appreciative, hot and sexy, supportive, a leader, amazing father, and most importantly-Christ follower. He leads us, he prays for us, he is never stagnant, he is always looking for a way to be better and he always looks out for our best interest, even if we don't understand at the moment :). He's humble, he's always learning new things, and quick to forgive and understand. What an example for our children we have! And how amazing is God to have put us together! I am so thankful for him.
In Him and Health-Demi

Rest day/Stretch X
So, I think today I might go for a little fun run. Fun runs to me are with my ipod, jammin' in my head to my favorite songs, and no more than 3 miles. Speed is never incorporated either (since it IS a rest day..)Once I'm done with that, I'll do StretchX. It's 70 degrees here in Charleston today (!) so I MUST take advantage of that!
One thing that I gotta say is that my mentality when it comes to a fitness program is, "go hard, or go home." Maybe it was the Marines that did it to me, or that I'm Hispanic, or maybe a combination of the 2. Or none of the above! Who knows. What I do know, that after having 2 kids is that it's nice not to worry about workouts, and just eat whatever you want. I did that for a long time, and I got to a really weird place in my life. When I saw the infomercial for P90X, I knew it would be perfect for me. If it made me sweat, great. If it made me want to take a nap afterwards, awesome. If I made a puddle on the floor with sweat-I can totally deal with that, and actually want it. If it even makes me puke from time to time, even better! I wanted a strict regimen to follow that would kick my ass on a continual basis. I am seriously doing as much as I can, leaving it all my mat during my workouts, and it is paying off. My resting heart rate has dropped back into the low 70's, (I have a feeling it will get much lower though), and I've lost 20 lbs. My old clothes are even getting loose. On comparison to my olden days of just leisurely strolling through the gym and doing half ass weight machines and an elliptical...well there really is no comparison. If you're going to workout, wherever or however you're going to workout-WORK OUT! Don't just stop when you start getting out of breath, or you start sweating too much (is there even such a thing??), GIVE IT YOUR ALL. Do your research on your workouts. PLAN. Plan your eating and your workouts. But hey, if your happy where you're at-there's no one but YOU that can change your ways. It's not about vanity muscles, it's about health. Even "skinny" people are grossly unhealthy inside. Think about this-1 pound of muscle burns 35 calories a day AT REST, while 1 pound of fat only burns 1 calorie. That's one, one, stinking calorie. That, my friend, SUCKS.

Rest day?
I don't particularly like them. I mean, it's not like I'm going to sit on my bum all day, but no workouts? UUgh. Well I think my body is telling me that I really need to do StretchX this time. Last week I just didn't feel like it, and I wasn't really sore. But today I woke up SORE as a mo' fo'. I think I put a little too much "uumph" in my workout yesterday (like there is a thing as too much??) and I am paying the price today. I am just completely draggin behind right now so I need to get some serious protein in my body NOW.
